Karim is recognized for his financial expertise, strong negotiation skills, dedication to a customer focused culture, and ability to efficiently meet fiduciary obligations to the Board of Directors and shareholders. He draws on his strong business acumen and experience to resolve critical financial and business decisions. Karim has held various senior executive positions and has significant experience with environmental technologies, oil-field service companies, software as a service platforms, artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies, and not-for-profit and charitable organization management.
Swapan has more than 25 years of senior finance and operations experience and has served at the senior executive management levels, both in public and private companies, in high growth technology, manufacturing, blockchain, medical device, and oil field services industries. He has held senior roles as President, Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Controller, Company Secretary, and Board Member for public and private companies in the information technology and energy services sectors. Swapan has extensive experience in public company reporting, investor relations, ERP implementations, mergers and acquisitions, internal controls, and overall financial and operations management. He is well versed in commercializing technologies and launching software (including SaaS) solutions and his experience spans manufacturing, distribution, oilfield services, healthcare technologies, and multi-jurisdictional operations. He is a results-driven and efficiency focused individual providing strategic advice to his clients.
Amyn is a consultant to RTB; but that doesn't make him any less valuable. As we know first hand at RTB, consultants can feel as apart of the team as an employee! Amyn's value-added services are critical to the success of RTB and several of RTB's client. Amyn has been working alongside RTB so long that it's difficult to remember what he did prior to. Amyn has an established reputation for maintaining client satisfaction. Amyn's dedication to his work and his clients is what makes him such an irreplaceable part of the RTB team.
Braden joined RTB in August of 2022 as a Controller/CPA. Prior to joining RTB, Braden was the Senior Manager of Finance for an environmental consulting firm, the Controller for Sysco Central East, the Coordinator of Controllership Initiatives for the Ministry of Natural Resource and Forestry (in Ontario) and spent over 8 years working in public accounting. Braden’s diverse background and friendly demeanor makes him well prepared to offer fresh perspectives or drive though new changes. As a lifelong student (Braden is currently pursuing his MBA though Athabasca University), he is open to new approaches and ideas when carrying out his work. He prides himself on being open minded and patient when working with clients and fellow staff members. Outside of work, Braden enjoys refereeing football, canoeing, and camping.
Brad is an accomplished financial executive with two decades of experience in taxation and financial reporting. He has extensive background experience in ERP implementation, financial reporting, financial modeling, and financial analysis. In addition, Brad has experience with start-up ventures and the challenges faced in the initial growth stage. He is recognized for his experience in streamlining business systems through corporate reorganization, business innovation, process redesign, and automation. Prior to joining RTB LLP, he was the Chief Financial Officer for three years at a TSX traded energy services company for three years, and prior to that he was the Manager of Corporate Accounting and Tax Specialist for five years at a billion-dollar energy services corporation.
Carlos is a a solid LATAM Leader with more than 20 years of a successful professional career in Finance spanning multiple roles, from Accounting Analyst to Regional CFO, and with more than 8 years in C-Level positions as Sales Director, Strategy Director, and Country Manager. He has successfully operated at both local (Colombia, Peru) and regional (Andean market) levels, having contributed to the growth of prominent companies across various industries (FMCG, Pharmaceutical, Health, Airlines, Beauty, Fashion) and business models (Retail, B2B, Social Selling). Thrived in different stages of growth, including post-acquisition, reconversion, start-up, and introduction, while navigating diverse capital structures (public-stock and private, family-owned, multinational subsidiary). Carlos is a forward-thinking and innovative mindset fostered through exposure to diverse cultures and international experiences in Colombia, Germany, England, and Peru. Cindy is an accomplished Controller with 14 years of experience in financial reporting and full cycle accounting. She has experience with start-up ventures and the challenges faced in the initial growth stage. Cindy is recognized for her financial reporting expertise, strong analytical skills, cash management, and in-depth knowledge of ERP software systems processes, accounting procedures, and system applications to streamline reporting. Cindy has accumulated a breadth of industry knowledge and understanding of corporate systems and strategic success factors for public and private companies in fintech, software as a service platform (SaaS), retail, manufacturing, commodity domestically and internationally trading and valuation, agriculture industry, railway and ocean logistics, operations of grant terminals, software data management, outsource production and financial accounting service, field service, gas and liquid lab analysis, certification and proving, equipment resale company, fabrication, inventory management, and managerial accounting. In Cindy’s spare time she is an avid dancer, loves to snowboard, and spend time with her family and friends.
Gary joined RTB in 2018 as accountant with over 10 years of financial, AP, and AR accounting experience and expertise. Prior to joining RTB, he was a large contributor in the energy and property management sector. Gary graduated from the Southern Alberta Institution of Technology with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree majoring in Accounting. Gary has been recognized for his strong analytical skills and detail-oriented experiences. These attributes continue while working at RTB - adding with his client dedication and passion for building strong client relationships.
Hisham joined our team in 2018 and provides CFO and Controller services to clients. He has 15 years of extensive experience providing financial oversight and business insight to companies across many industries. He started his career in public accounting and gained extensive experience in financial reporting, accounting standards, auditing, and taxation. After seven years, Hisham transitioned to industry and worked with some of the largest North American companies. During this time Hisham developed expertise in internal business functions which was has made him a well-rounded accounting and finance professional. Hisham is driven and motivated by the desire to solve complex problems faced by clients and see them succeed. He likes to spend time with family, training in Kyokushin, and keeping up with his studies in economics and history.
Jenna was born and raised in small town Alberta and moved to Calgary in 2009 to pursue her accounting career. Jenna successfully completed the UFE and obtained her CA designation in 2014 while articling at a mid-sized accounting firm. Prior to joining RTB in 2016, Jenna had five years of detail-oriented audit and taxation services experience working for several clients in the oil and gas, technology, and land development sectors. While working at the accounting firm, Jenna was known for her passion and commitment in the facilitation and mentoring of up and coming CPA candidates. Jenna has an established reputation for going above and beyond to help others and has found her niche in accounting in providing controller services to businesses on a part-time basis. Her attention to detail and dedication to building and developing client relationships makes Jenna a valuable part of the RTB team.
Jeremy is a skilled designated accountant with over a decade of senior-level experience. He has a strong history in management and reporting and has worked closely with many C-level executives. He builds strong relationships with his colleagues to create a solid working foundation. Jeremy is recognized for his strength in process improvement and historical cleanup and has created new process and control environments for his clients. His reports and infrastructure setup focuses on being streamlined and simple. His work experience spans the restaurant, entertainment, oil and gas production, oil and gas field service, construction, building management, and software as a service industries.
Kat is an accomplished bookkeeper financial executive with eight years of experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management. Prior to being recruited by RTB LLP, Kat was an Accounting Admin of a TSX traded energy services company for seven years, where she demonstrated exceptional skill at adapting and processing high volumes of transactions and bank reconciliation of the corporation’s 21 product lines reconciling an average of 4,700 transactions per month across five entities operating in the United States and Canada. Kat has accumulated a breadth of industry knowledge and understanding of accounting for fintech, app development, electronic wallet, wearable technology, software data management, outsource production and financial accounting service, field service, gas and liquid lab analysis, certification and proving, equipment resale, fabrication, and software as a service platform (SaaS).
Lori-ann joined RTB in May 2022 as an Accountant. Prior to joining RTB, Lori-ann had 6 years of accounting experience and a 13 years of administrative experience including supervisory roles both in profit and non-profit organizations. She takes pride in her work and is very passionate about what she does. She values her relationships with her colleagues and clients. On the other side, Lori-ann loves travelling with her family and friends, camping and enjoying the beauty of nature. She also enjoys creating events including all the planning and decorating!
Matt is a Controller with 25 years of experience working with both private and public clients. He has extensive background experience in developing and implementing financial controls, leading financial teams as well as ERP implementations. Prior to joining RTB LLP, Matt has worked with a variety of clients in the consulting, technology and construction sectors. When not at work, Matt enjoys golf, camping and spending time with his family.
Natalie has over 12 years of professional finance experience on three different continents holding controller and manager positions in various industries including technology, healthcare and mining companies, including companies listed on the TSX and CSE. Natalie has accumulated a breadth of industry knowledge in finance operations and accounting standards, generating and presenting of financial statements, introduction and analysis of financial models, and process improvement. She leads teams working with internal and external stakeholders to provide well-managed annual budgeting processes, budget- model construction, and proformas for public/private/non-profit organizations. She has led many audits and developed great relationships with clients. She has been heavily involved in many industries including SaaS, cryptocurrency, mining, healthcare, government, energy and technological companies. When not at work, Natalie enjoys playing various sports, travelling, personal development and spending quality time with family and friends.
Poonam joined RTB in August of 2022 as an Accountant/Controller. She has over 13 years of experience in various accounting roles, with most of her career growth coming from the healthcare and tech industry including her most recent position as Controller at Osperity, a tech company in Calgary. Poonam is a compassionate leader who brings a wealth of knowledge in innovation and working with complex financial information systems, financial and statistical analysis and has eye for improving processes and increasing efficiencies. She has a Bachelor of Applied Business Administration in Accounting and is currently pursuing her CPA dream. Outside of work Poonam enjoys cooking for her family and friends, travelling, hiking and checking out Calgary’s newest restaurants.
Priya is a highly motivated accounting specialist with more than 15 years of demonstrated experience providing exceptional service to her clients. Priya’s deep knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, accounting data analysis, and performance reporting have allowed her clients to change their current processes and implement new technologies that increase accuracy and efficiency. Priya is an excellent communicator and presenter who works well with Individuals at all levels of a corporation.
Shareen Tazdin is a CPA, CMA and holds a Bachelor's degree in International Business Administration from USIU – Africa. Before moving to Canada in 2011, Shareen ran her family business in Kisumu, Kenya, where her passion for accounting and finance was fostered. If she's not thinking of bottom-line, she is thinking of turnover. Prior to joining RTB in 2017, Shareen had 5 years of project accounting, human resources, and taxation experience while working in the construction industry in Vancouver, BC. Outside of work, Shareen enjoys exercising, hiking, reading, volunteering in various community events and is an axe throwing champion!
Shirley joined RTB in December 2021 as bookkeeper/junior accountant. Prior to joining RTB, Shirley had 5 years accounting experience in for-profit and 8 years in not-for-profit. She loves what she is doing. She takes great pride in her position and she cherishes her working relationships with co-workers and clients. Outside of work, Shirley enjoys hiking, travelling, and photography.
Supreet is a CPA with 12 years of experience in public accounting audits, budgets, financial planning and analysis, consolidations and financial reporting. Prior to joining RTB LLP, she was a corporate reporting manager for three years at a financial holding and investment management company, and prior to that she was a manager of corporate reporting for three years at a large private manufacturing company. Supreet has accumulated a breadth of industry knowledge in financial reporting, financial analysis, systems implementation, process improvements and accounting policy implementation for public and private organizations and has served in many industries including power generation, manufacturing, investment management and logistics. When not at work, Supreet enjoys baking, travelling, spending time with her family and pampering her dog.
Taija Lowe joined RTB in 2023. She has eight years of accounting and office management experience within the construction and land development industries. Taija has accumulated a breadth of industry knowledge in project accounting for both commercial and residential construction. When not at work, Taija enjoys gardening and spending time with her family and farm animals.
Wendy is a Bookkeeper/Junior Accountant with 15 years of experience in Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, GST filing, preparing audit working paper, updated monthly cash inflow and outflow and collections. She has extensive background experience in Full Cycle Accounting. Prior to joining RTB LLP, she helped Planet Foods Inc. prepare cash flow reports and weekly cash forecast for analyzing five-week cash inflow and out-flow, setup new account code for new inventory items and documented new inventory procedure for the sample room. Wendy has accumulated a breadth of industry knowledge in accounting for foods, aviation, land investment organizations and has served in many industries including Planet Foods Inc., Avmax Group, Walton International Group Inc. When not at work, Wendy enjoys spending time with family, hiking, and reading.
Yang is a CPA with 13 years of accounting experience, including over 5 years of senior experience with month-end closing, consolidated financial reporting, internal control improvements, ERP implementation and financial planning & analysis. Prior to joining RTB LLP, Yang has accumulated a breadth of industry knowledge in manufacturing for public organizations and has served in the private transportation industry for 5 years to accumulate her professional experience towards the designation. Yang is self-motivated and result driven. She is good at adapting to a flexible environment while working with challenges. When not at work, Yang enjoys thriller novels and relaxing games like Minesweeper.
